Gretchen Bleiler (born on April 10, 1981 in Toledo, Ohio is a professional halfpipe snowboarder. She currently resides in Aspen, Colorado and is 5’5”. Isn’t it funny some of the stats you find on wikipedia, does it matter that Gretchen is 5’5″ (5’8″ in heels..)
Anyway, regardless of her height, she has accomplished a lot more the most in snowboarding – probably using some of her trophies as doorstops, as she has that many. Latest being the 2010 X Games Gold..
So with success comes options. One option she has taken a hold of wholeheartedly is designing. Starting back in 2007, Bleiler began designing her own signature line with Oakley. And what we are showing you here is her latest range..
12 piece collection. Made up of goggles, outerwear and softgoods – tees, cardies, etc..
The Mane Jacket (outerwear) is pretty impressive – insulated jacket with more pockets than MacGyver would know what to do with, a removable faux fur hood (save the rabbits), custom back embroidery and buttons. Nice indeed. Could even see myself wearing it, but I’m weird like that..
The other highlight of the collection is the inclusion of Ecostorm – a highly waterproof and breathable recycled and recyclable tech fabric. This material is included on the Mane Jacket, Lighter Fare Jacket and Profile Pant. Great to see more and more companies getting involved with eco friendly solutions..
Check out the entire range over at GB’s dedicated site at Oakley. And keep your eyes peeled for Winter Olympic success…
