Well Reef Australia – is looking for a talented, experienced apparel designer to join its growing Apparel Design Department based in Torquay, Victoria.

Focusing on specific categories you will be responsible for developing commercially viable ranges in conjunction with the Product Manager, Head Designers, and other design team members.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and background:

€ Developing new commercially successful ranges with briefs from product managers
€ Identifying and being aware of market trends
€ Communicating confidently with suppliers to achieve desired outcomes
€ Reviewing the performance of your designs by analysing relevant
information
€ A fashion degree or graphics degree would be viewed favourably
€ Bright, motivated and most of all a team player

The Ideal Candidate will possess:

€ An understanding and awareness of Surf product
€ Extensive knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe In Design. (InDesign, Final Cut, Photography, Fine Art or Illustration skills a bonus)
€ At least 2-3 years experience in a related role
€ A demonstrated passion for surf, fashion, colour and design
€ Knowledge and understanding of the surf industry and surf fashion.
€ Ability to liaise with reps and buyers
€ Creative flair and the ability to understand fashion and forecast trends.
€ Effective communications and organisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines
