Rip Curl Flash Bomb

Rip Curl Flash Bomb

It’s winter time, water’s getting colder and unless you live north of Byron you’re probably looking to get a new full suit. There’s a couple of suits on the market you should probably look at, one of them is this one – Rip Curl’s Flash Bomb.

We’ve spoken about it before, and have been using one for the past six months (we live in Victoria, where it’s full suits most of the year) and wore it at the Tracks Wetsuit Test as well. It’s a great suit and while it doesn’t ‘dry in a flash’ as you might have read – it’s damn warm, it does dry reasonably quick and pretty flexible.

The one I used previously had double taping, the ones hitting the market here in Australia are single taped (inside) with Rip Curl’s E3 taping – which is apparently the next step beyond liquid tape. Still warm, still leak proof.

Final Thoughts? It’s a Rip Curl suit, history shows these guys know how to make suits and they certainly didn’t falter with this one either. The suit dries quicker then the suit your currently pissing in, it’s really comfortable (the red fluff is pretty neat against your skin) and it’s warm. I’m wearing a 3/2 when everyone else is 4/3ing it…

Easy sell really and you can buy online now.

Cheers for the review…..have you tried both the quikky fuseflex and the Flashbomb? and if so, which (assuming no bias or affiliation, which i am not sure there is anyway) would you recommend based on warmth and flexibility. I worry a little about the fuseflex seams deteriorating
