Rip Curl Mirage

I’ve been digging the Rip Curl Mirage campaign for a while. A cool new update. Instead of wave pools, the ‘Matrix effect’ has been taken to real life Fijian tubes.

It’s pretty crazy, how they’ve ended up using an array of 30 GoPro Hero 2 HD cameras, firing consistently as surfers ride towards and past it. How hard would it be to lug that thing around in the water, or keep balance on the back of a jetski!

Best freeze frame by a mile is the tube shot of Owen at the end of the clip. How good would it have been to get a mad freeze of Mick’s claim in France. Next time we can see that facial expression up close!
