Thalia Surf Shop

A new twist to the feature posts, we figured after almost two years of profiles we could try to shake things up a bit and try something new. Gone is the long winded essay, for this month anyway, and say hello to a photo essay that is shot poorly by a fool with a digital setup…

The subject for the first photo essay? Thalia Surf Shop. Possibly the best little surf shop you’ve never heard of.

This store is located smack bang in the middle of OC territory – Laguna Beach. Unfortunately I saw neither Summer or Seth. It’s on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) just near Thalia Street, Laguna Beach – hence the name, deeeer… Easy to find. The shop has a warm feel to it and you feel welcomed the moment you walk in…

We aren’t trying to get into doing store reviews, etc, I’ll leave that for POP or Complex – they do it better. But this was just such an inspiring and exciting store to be in I just wanted to showcase it – from the collection of sea shells on the walls, to old school skateboards on the floor, to the big cutout of Duke K out the back, Thalia just has this different vibe about it that other surf store don’t give off anymore…

All the staff surf – no pimply, westfield mall grub serving you here, trying to sell you wax they have never used. Don’t think the Thalia staff even wear lanyards..

Check out the photos, and if you get the chance go check the store. You will walk out stoked – when was the last time you did that?
