Did you go? It was pretty good this year, better then last? I don’t know, both shows had their up’s and down’s…

Speakers who killed it? Huw Bennett from Vanishing Elephant, Eugene Kan from Hypebeast, DJ Neil Armstrong and to round it out – Joy Yoon. Eugene was one of the few who seem to be organised. I can’t imagine it any way being easy to get up and speak in front of a bunch of self obssessed, hipsters with big dreams and good internet connections… But Eugene nailed his presentation really well, delivering some really strong points and giving everyone a great insight to Hypebeast. Huw gave a great talk on what to expect when starting your own company that grows quickly. Neil through all sorts of points that just made you think about branding, really good stuff. And Joy was amazingly blunt and fresh – apparently her dad isn’t too impressed with her choice of work…

Speakers who choked? 13th Witness (massive let down – fortunately his talents are so freakishly amazing he can handle a choke easily). Ricky Powell was hammered by the time he spoke and everyone’s internet crush Yimmy Yamo kinda just kept telling us how he didn’t think he should be up there but he did drop a good line about working hard all the time, which kinda made ya feel lazy… Kinda bummed cause those three could killed it so easily given the achievements they have aligned with their names – guess we will just have to keep dreaming thru the outputs in their chosen fields rather then their spoken words…

Overall, the show was rad, got me amped. I’m looking forward to next years.
