At this time of year, there aren’t many better places in the world than California. Girls in bikinis walk around freely until the sky darkens, the smell of tacos fills the air, families play beach-volleyball and Mickey Mouse sweats his big dumb ass off in his big dumb mouse costume.
Realising the significance of a Cali autumn, Vans have dropped their Californian apparel line. The basic rundown goes like this: eight or so items with minimal branding and some “nostalgic graphics.” They’re basically got your upper body covered with two tees, two long-sleeve pullover shirts, two fleeces, a jacket and a backpack. Nothing too drastic, but a healthy combination of style and flair.
Empire’s pick: The Asilomar Knit Henley tee, the Carpinteria Crew Neck Fleece (that’s the grey one pictured) and the Carlsbad Jacket which is constructed with 100% water resistant Storm Cotton.
