Sea Stoke

Sea Stoke

Friday the 13th April will be the opening of ‘Sea Stoke’ an exhibition by visual artists inspired by the Sea. The show is a unique mix of photography, sculpture, painting, drawing and film from some of Australia’s finest emerging and established artists. Featuring the likes of Jeff Raglus, Wade Lewis, Adrian Knott, Mick Egan, Peter Webb and many other talented folk, the artists’ work ties in with the exhibition’s theme of paying homage to the sea by exploring its relationship with humans.

Exhibition curator, Gary Parker, whose photographic work will also be featured in the exhibition, has handpicked the artists to represent a diverse range of works and ensure there is something for everyone. The evening will also double as a fundraising event for SurfAid International, with all proceeds from the evening going to this wonderful organisation. The $5 entry fee will provide you with all of the artistic offerings of the exhibition as well as nibbles, Bellbrae Estate wine and Mountain Goat beer. There will also be a gold coin donation sausage sizzle being served from a customised EH bbq on wheels!

Be sure to check out the live entertainment from Surf Coast duo, Jimmy and the Mexican, who will be playing an eclectic fusion of blues, roots and rock. The exhibition will also launch a new online publication, Sea Stoke, which is an exciting new magazine that will offer stories, art, film and music that all connect back to the ocean. Although the Sea Stoke mag is currently under construction, you can check out www.seastoke.com and www.facebook.com/seastoke for more details about what this publication will offer its readers, as well as some great interviews with all the artists in the show as well as some of their past works…
