Mekanism x Josh Smith

Mekanism skateboards and Josh Smith have just released a 200 piece limited edition collaboration of artwork decks. Each deck has a unique oil pattern hand painted by Smith himself.

I love it how talented artist can put some squiggles on a canvas with a few dots and sell that shit for a mint. To be honest I can’t tell the difference between these decks and the one my mates 4 year old son got a hold of. They’re cool though.

The brief Mekanism gave Josh for the project was simple. “Do what you want.” As you can see by the pic below the bottom of each deck is plastered with flowing lines and dots in muddy colours. The tops each have a Josh Smith stencil.
