Billabongs Plastic

Plastic bottles into boardies? Sounds sort of weird but with the way of the eco minded consumer these days it seems anything is becoming possible as we try to reduce waste, etc and learn to recycle what we are using….

Billabong has discovered a way to churn recycled plastic bottle (yeah, your coke bottles) into top of the line, comfortable and durable surf shorts. Made from a fabric called Eco Supreme Suede, approximately ten bottles are needed to make on new pair of boardies.

Seems they have been a hit with Rasta, who in between saving whales and generally doing what he can to help the environment, has been rocking them in the water and has given them the green light. Go get a pair and earn some brownie points with Mother Nature.

There is a sweet little video on the billabong site about the shorts, I would have linked to it for you but the Billabong Empire has the site on lockdown.
