Empire Ave is a showcase for product and happenings from within the ‘action sports’ industry, with a particular focus on specialty items and limited editions that not everyone gets to see.
We also cover events, significant people, projects and things we hope you’ll find interesting. Empire Ave provides a direct link from the artists and designers of the industry to help you better understand the reasons why they put four banana’s and a monkey skull on a tee and why this is the height of current fashion.
If there’s a monkey out there, chances are you’ll see him first at Empire Ave.
If you had only ever seen Matt ‘Midget’ Maunder on stage with his band Mindsnare, you’d be forgiven for thinking that if you ran into him in the alley outside he’d rip the skin off your face and eat it, while you cry in a heap of bloody mess on the ground at his feet. In every day life however, Matt is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet, the tatts are mostly covered up, the bandana is off his face and he doesn’t bark and growl and spit and jump up and down like a freak. He is an absolute gentleman in every sense of the word.
